On Saturday, Yodomo will be joined by U SHIRT — a pop‑up T‑shirt printing and design station where you can bring a garment from home or choose one sourced from charity shops, then customise it on the spot. Take a seat in the designer’s chair and create something entirely your own.

Overlooked: Women Artists, Evoking Change by Nasty Gallery

NASTY GALLERY is a feminist art collective founded in 2023, recognised for championing women artists, DIY creative practice and community‑driven cultural work. Their programming spans online projects, London pop‑up exhibitions, inclusive life‑drawing, creative workshops and discussions exploring the relationship between art, activism and collective empowerment.

Operating as a nomadic collective without a permanent venue, NASTY GALLERY creates temporary spaces of belonging wherever they gather. Their work centres visibility, dialogue and the transformative potential of feminist creativity, making them a vital platform for women artists across all stages of their careers.

From 7–10 March, Arbeit Studios will become their temporary home as they take over The Loop’s event space to mark International Women’s Day with the exhibition Overlooked: Women Artists, Evoking Change, curated by Nasty Gallery and Suda Mohamedin, and dialogues with the theme “Where does your work belong?”.

The exhibition brings together artists responding to the long history of women’s labour being exploited, undervalued and claimed by others. Their creative work confronts the structural realities that continue to shape women’s work today.

We’re honoured to host this four‑day exhibition and support their mission to amplify women’s voices through bold, transformative art.

Circular Economy Week at The Loop

Visit The Loop, in Hackney Wick, for 2 days of circular inspiration as part of Circular Economy Week. The brilliant lineup of circular businesses based at The Loop organised this amazing event in order to promote their work transforming waste into possibility, from textile reuse and plastic recycling to open-source design and community packaging swaps. Also, you don’t want to miss the all-time hit and crowd favourite Yodomo’s fabric and textile sale, featuring rescued surplus fabrics from leading designer brands.

Open House Festival 2025 - The Loop

After the huge success of last year’s launch, we’re back! Join us on Thursday 18 September, from 5 to 9 PM, as the Hackney Wick and Fish Island Community Development Trust and Arbeit proudly open the doors of The Loop, Hackney’s first circular economy hub. Step inside studios led by local pioneers in sustainable design and meet the founders behind the most exciting eco-conscious brands.

The Loop is a space located in Hackney Wick that is host to circular economy businesses, helping them to scale their operations by connecting like-minded peers, helping trial new processes and undertaking R&D activities locally.

Visitors will have access to the warehouse building that is not usually accessible to the public day-to-day. They can connect and visit the studios of some of London’s leaders in the circular economy, learn about the unique community ownership model behind the project. Exclusive arts and crafts, designed and manufactured by the studio holders, will also be on display in a dedicated sales area.

The building will be open from 5 to 9pm on Thursday 18th September 2025.

In addition, visitors can see Growing Concerns, a much-loved East London garden centre who has found a new life at The Loop and allows local people to access a wide range of interesting and unusual plants, which change season to season. who are trading in the yard at The Loop. Growing Concerns will be trading in the yard at The Loop until 7pm.

Accessibility notes
The ground-floor studio space is accessible, but the first floor unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible.

There might be some noise, since participants will have the option to see maker spaces. However, this will be limited and not constant.

In addition, we will also be hosting workshops related to the Loop`s focus on circularity and sustainability. The workshops will allow learning what the circular economy means to our everyday lives and learn about different practices that make up the circular economy.

Alongside this, visitors can explore Growing Concerns, a beloved East London garden centre now thriving at The Loop. This new location offers the local community access to a wide range of unique and seasonal plants.

Open Call: Showcase Your Work at The Loop Opening Event

The Loop, a new circular economy space in Hackney Wick hosted by Arbeit and the Hackney Wick and Fish Island Community Development Trust, has its official opening on Thursday, 19 September, from 5pm to 9pm, as part of the London Open House Festival. 

As part of the opening event, we are hosting open studios, along with workshops and artists installations on the first floor of the building. We have limited spaces and would like to invite any local artists who are looking to showcase their work at the event.  We are looking for artists, designers and makers who live or work in Hackney or Hackney Wick and Fish Island area, and ideally those who work with recycled materials or on the theme of circularity.  This exhibition is free to participate in, and financial contributions towards costs of transportation and installation are available.
