A vibrant circular economy hub in Hackney Wick

The Loop was a light-industrial hub for circular economy businesses and practices, which helped them scale their operations in the area by connecting them with like-minded peers, trial new processes and undertake R&D activities locally.

It ensured that circular products and services were accessible to the local community (e.g. finding new uses for locally-generated waste). The Loop was a dedicated space and community of creative, innovative circular economy businesses and artists linked to sustainable practices.

This site ended its activities in May 2026.

The Site

The Loop was located in a warehouse at 119 Wallis Road. This unique hub hosted a cluster of businesses working on the circular economy. In practice, it was a micro demonstrator hub for the circular economy potential in Hackney. The site was formed by self-contained unit/s providing private working space (approximately 50 to 100 ft²) and a large venue space, with 3600 ft² with flexible settings, open-plan layout, natural light, suitable for photo shootings and events that could host a large amount of people.

The Loop was part of the Open House Festival 2024 and 2025, listed as a space not to be missed on London's Cultural Engine curated by Justine Simons, Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries.
