Join Hackney Fairtrade Group for “Good for the farmers, good for your soul, sustainable living is the way to go!”, an event celebrating Fairtrade, ethical consumption and everyday actions that support a healthier planet. Visitors can explore practical ways to live more sustainably, learn about Fairtrade’s role in tackling climate change, and browse a variety of Fairtrade goods available for purchase.
The event is supported by Sustainable Hackney, an umbrella network that brings together environmental, community and climate‑focused groups across the borough, including the Hackney Fairtrade Group. Both organisations have been active in Hackney for many years, championing sustainable living, climate action and social justice, and promoting Fairtrade buying and selling locally.
Funded through Hackney Council’s Local Area Activation Fund
This event is part of Hackney Council’s Local Area Activation Fund, which supports activities that bring Hackney Wick’s key routes and public spaces to life, encouraging people to visit local businesses, and creating moments of social connection with community organisations. On the same day, there will be other activities happening at Trowbridge Gardens, giving visitors more to explore and enjoy.
